Introduction

A photographic record of the very first tour with Great Rail Journeys to Canada in September 2011. My wife & I flew from London Heathrow to Toronto, Ontario with Canada Airways where we stayed for three nights. During that time we had a tour of the City including a visit to the famous CN Tower. We als took a trip to Niagara to view the USA & Canadian Falls. On return to Toronto we boarded the legendary 'Canadian' train for a three day journey across Canada.

On day 2 of this journey we had a brief stopover at Winnipeg, Manitoba with a tour of the City included. On day 3 we arrived at Jasper, Alberta for a 2 night stay. Whilst here we visited the Jasper National Park and took a journey on the Jasper Tramway cable car.

The next leg of our tour by coach along the Icefield Parkway to Banff calling in at the Athabasca Glacier on the way. During a three night stay we visited Suphur Mountain, Lake Louise Resort and the Spiral Tunnes in Kicking Horse Pass as well as spending a free day exploring Banff.

On day 12 of our tour we boarded the world famous 'Rocky Mountaineer' train for a two day journey to Vancouver, British Columbia staying overnight in the small mining town of Kamloops. After a two night stay we departed by coach to the port of Tsawwassen where we took the ferry to Vancouver Island. On the journey to Victoria (Capital City) we visited the famous Butchart Gardens. After another two night stay at Victoria with some free time time to explore the City we retraced our steps back to Vancouver and the airport for our return flight to London Heathrow.
